Celtic fans haven’t had much to smile about of late.
The Hoops were disastrous in the transfer window as they were left scrambling desperately for a new striker and winger on deadline day.
They signed Sebastian Tounekti at the eleventh hour, but did not buy a replacement in time for Adam Idah, who left for Swansea City.
Furious Celtic fans have since sent an open letter to the club’s board asking seven key questions of the under fire hierarchy.
But one cult hero has lightened the mood around Paradise somewhat.
Marc Crosas posts brilliant Celtic Park return video
Who remembers Marc Crosas? The Spanish midfielder plied his trade with Celtic for three years between 2008 and 2011.
He may not have been the most outstanding of players, but Celtic fans look back on his contributions fondly.
Crosas posted a video to his X account on Friday that shows him approaching Celtic Park via the Celtic Way, and it’s safe to say he’s emotional.
Filming himself, Crosas reveals this is the first time in 14 years he has been at Paradise.
He can be heard saying: “I want to cry. I can’t believe it’s been 14 years since the last time I was here. F***ing Paradise!”
Celtic more important to Crosas than Barcelona
Crosas grew up a Barcelona fan and went on to spend five years in the youth academy there, before penning a five-year contract with the La Liga giants.
He only made a couple of appearances, and ended up at Celtic a couple of years later in 2008.
When Crosas left Celtic, he told the BBC that while Barcelona remained close to his heart, his feelings about the Hoops were even stronger and deeper.
He said in 2011: “Barca is special to my heart, but Celtic is something else. It tells you everything that it was harder leaving Celtic than Barcelona.
“My friends and family know my dream was always to play for Barcelona, but Celtic took over my life in a way that is hard to describe. It was more than just a football club to me.
“The day I arrived at Celtic my life changed forever. I may not have played as many games as I wanted, but I never fell out of love with the club. If anything, I fell more in love.
“I learned about the history and became a real fan. There are thousands like me and they will understand what I mean about Celtic when I say I don’t have words to describe how special it is.
“I’m one of the lucky ones, I lived their dream and will never forget it. I’ve left Celtic, but the club won’t leave me.”
